【摘要】:Theimagelifeofprintedmediadisplayedinbothtypicalofficeandoutdoorenvironmentscanbeextendedbylaminationorencapsulation.Whilenaturalagingisthemostreliablemethodofassessinglaminationadhesion,thelengthofthetimerequiredmakesthismethodimpracticalformostmaterials.Thispracticeutilizingmechanicalstressallowscomparativestudiesofprintsandlaminatingfilms.Factorsintheofficeandoutdoorenvironments,suchasheat,cold,thermalshock,ultraviolet/visibleradiationandwatervaporcanhaveeffectonlaminatestability.Theresistanceofthelaminatetothesefactorscanbeassessedbyapplyingmechanicalstress.Goodadhesionisaprimeconsiderationforlaminatingfilmsandprints.Alaminatingfilm,whichdoesnotadheretoaprintorviceversagenerally,hasnocommercialvalue.Thispracticeisusedtoobtaincomparativedataofadhesionstrengthofencapsulatedorlaminatedmedia.1.1Thispracticedescribesproceduresforassessingtheadhesionbetweenlaminationfilmsandblackandwhiteorcolorimagesproducedbyprinters,copiesandotherreprographicdevices.1.2Thispracticecanbeusedtotestdifferentlaminateswithagivensetofinksandmediaoritcanbeusedtoevaluateinksandmediawithagivenlaminate.1.3Thispracticeisapplicabletolaminatedimages,wherethesubstratesurfaceissubjecttofailureundermechanicalstressfrommostlypeelconditions(thatis,paper,film,cloth,andsoforth).1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
