【摘要】:Thisguideprovidesdirectionandrecommendscablesplicingmaterialsandmethodsthatwouldsatisfytherequirementsofextensivecablesplicinginmodularshipconstructionandofferssufficientinformationanddatatoassisttheshipbuilderinevaluatingthisoptionofcablesplicingforfutureshipconstruction.Thisguidedealswithcablesplicingatagenericlevelanddetailsamethodthatwillsatisfythevastmajorityofcablesplicingapplications.Thisguidecoversacceptablemethodsofcablesplicingusedinshipboardcablesystemsandprovidesinformationoncurrentapplicabletechnologiesandadditionalinformationthattheshipbuildermayuseindecisionmakingforthecosteffectivenessofsplicinginelectricalcableinstallations.Thisguideislimitedtoapplicationsof2000Vorless,butmostofthematerialsandmethodsdiscussedareadaptabletohighervoltages,suchas5-kVsystems.Thecablesofthisguiderelatetoallmarinecables,domesticandforeign,commercialorU.S.Navy.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsshallberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareinch-poundunitsandareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicationofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
