【摘要】:Thiscolorimetricmethodisfordeterminingchlorideintherangeof0.1to1mass-ppminliquidhydrocarbonsthatarefreeofhydrogensulfideandlowintotalsulfurcontent.Themethodisnotapplicabletosampleswithsulfurlevelsthatexceed10mass-ppm,orthatarecolored.UOPMethod588canbeusedforchlorideconcentrationsabove1mass-ppm.Bromidesandiodides,althoughrarelypresent,arecalculatedaschloride.Samplesthatarepolymerizedbysodiumbiphenyl(suchasstyrene)cannotbeanalyzedbythismethod.Themethodcanbeusedtodeterminewhetherthechlorideisorganicorinorganic.
