【摘要】:Thistestmethodevaluatespunctureresistanceofprotectiveclothingmaterialswhichmayincludeplasticsorelastomericfilms,coatedfabrics,flexiblematerials,laminates,ortextilematerials.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtomeasurepunctureresistanceofalltypesofpuncturesencounteredusingprotectiveclothingmaterial.Thistestmethodinvolvesaprocedurewhereapunctureprobeofspecifieddimensionsisusedforpuncturingspecimens.Thistestmethodevaluatespunctureresistanceofprotectiveclothingmaterials,specificallyforpunctureforcedonspecimensperpendiculartomaterialsurface.Thereisnosupportingstructureunderthematerialspecimen.Evaluationofpunctureresistanceforsnag-typepunctureshouldbeperformedinaccordancewithTestMethodD2582.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminesthepunctureresistanceofaprotectiveclothingmaterialspecimenbymeasuringtheforcerequiredtocauseapointedpunctureprobetopenetratethroughthespecimen.Thistestmethoddescribesthreeprotocolsthatmaybeused:MethodA,MethodB,andMethodC.1.1.1MethodArequirestheuseofProbeAonly.Theprobeusedfortestingshallberecordedinthetestreport.1.1.1.1ProbeAmaybeusedtomeasurepunctureresistanceforthefollowingtypesofmaterials:(1)Elastomericmaterials(2)Textiles(3)Coatedmaterials1.1.2MethodBrequirestheuseofProbeB.Theprobeusedfortestingshallberecordedinthetestreport.1.1.2.1ProbeBmaybeusedtomeasurepunctureresistanceforthefollowingtypesofmaterials:(1)Textiles(2)CoatedmaterialsNote18212;ProbeBisnotsuitedformeasuringthepunctureresistanceofunsupportedelastomericmaterials.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesininch-poundunitsinbracketsareforinformationpurposesonly.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
